AREA RUGS - OUR GREATEST LOVE AND
OFTEN OUR GREATEST CHALLENGE SINCE WE THRIVE ON THE DIFFICULT
ONES
Why do we love
to clean them so much? Because they are so responsive to the
combination of expertise and focused effort and the desire to
please. Every rug that enters our plant receives the highest
degree of attention.
We clean oriental rugs, designer
rugs, exotic rugs (sisal, raffia, abaca, seagrass, coir),
chainstitch and needlepoints (they are blocked and sized first),
animal skins, Green shags (Flokati),Chinese, Carousel (popcorn),
Irish wool, Spanish, sculptured, art silk, silk, cotton, Moroccan,
Persian, Russian, Tibetan, Navajo, South American, braided, crewel,
hook, Dhurrie, Kilim, Armenian, runners and cut rugs. In
other words, if you have it we will clean it. We also clean
tapestries, wall hangings, Belgium, Scandinavian, and French
Abusson rugs.
When accepting an area rug for
cleaning, it is imperative to find out first what the expectation
of the owner is. There is no point in spending money if there
is no value in return. We are skillful enough to be able to
provide this information before anything is written up. If
there is doubt, we test the rug while you are there to determine
the results that may be achieved.
The second thing to determine is
whether the cost of cleaning is warranted in terms of the value of
the rug. We often tell people not to spend the money.
We find this to be a good policy since, in many instances, people
go on to tell us that they have other rugs at home that are much
better and they will bring them in for cleaning when in need.
Honesty is always the best way to be.
Needless to say, we do not have one
of those 16 foot automatic scrubbers that you toss the rug
into. All of our work is done by hand and cleaning units (the
shampoo process, followed by the steam cleaning process). We
have a lift or big fans for fast drying. And, yes, we do
incorporate dry cleaning in some situations.
